My name is Dominique Labovitz! I graduated from Holy Family with a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently obtaining my Master's Degree in Educational Psychology. This is my 5th year teaching, 4 of those years being at St. Jerome's. I have taught PreK 3, PreK 4 and 2nd Grade. I truly believe in the importance of Catholic Education. I am a proud Catholic School Alum from Our Lady of Consolation, Saint Hubert's and Holy Family. The Catholic identity, respect and overall compassion of Catholic Schools and educators is something that has shaped me into the teacher I am today! St. Jerome is a great Northeast Philadelphia school with wonderful school community.
In PreK 4 we introduce basic skills needed for learning! We learn and develop our social skills, following directions, motor skills, letter sounds and recognition, numbers and listening skills. Our PreK students learn the importance of staying on a task, gaining responsibilities and cooperating and coping. We love to read stories and have many opportunities to develop reading and listening skills. We participate in the 1,000 Book Challenge and have a Take Home Book Club. We participate in the Children's Literacy Initiative to build the foundation to become a great reader and student! We also have a Thanksgiving Feast, Halloween Parade, Mother's Day Tea, Donuts with Dad, Teddy Bear Picnic and many other celebrations throughout the year!
